The Village of Pemberton is committed to sharing timely updates and information in an effort to reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19.  While the response is lead by the Ministry of Health with recommendations from Vancouver Coastal Health, we continue to communicate regularly with our doctors at the Pemberton Medical Clinic.

Today's update (March 13, 2020) from Vancouver Coastal Health  advises that while community transmission is not widespread in B.C. and the risk remains low, it is increasing.
We encourage residents to take all of the usual precautions to prevent cold and flu viruses from spreading.
Here are some quick tips to remember:
  1. Practice excellent hygiene, wash hands frequently and avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth
  2. Practice social distancing - refrain from unnecessary gatherings or close contact with others in public
  3. If you have symptoms of a cold, stay home. Do not go to work/school.
  4. If you are feeling unwell and exhibiting any symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, and headache, call 811. They will provide an assessment, up-to-date information and next steps/direction.
  5. Follow the advice from Vancouver Coastal Health ( www. vch.ca) and the BC Center for Disease Control ( www.bccdc.ca) regarding getting tested. This is updated on a daily basis.
  6. If you are in distress, call 911, or call the nurse at the Pemberton Health Care Centre on 604-894-6633 for advice on being seen at the ER urgently. Please do not attend the Medical Clinic Offices or the Emergency Department directly without calling first.
